Flight Delayed

It looks like our flight is delayed about one half hour. The flight # is 223.  We will see you then in baggage claim.

Golden Gate Bridge

What a view.  We walked to the middle of the bridge and back, while learning about  its history and the history of San Francisco. Here are some photos from that adventure, and I am posting this on the boat to Alcatraz, so I'll post those pictures while we are at the airport waiting to fly home. See you soon!!!

Elkhorn Slough

Today at the slough, we learned about estuaries, learned how to identify hemlock, looked at macro organisms in a microscope (amazingly cool), tried pickle weed (check out pics of Dutch and Jillian), and took a great hike. 

Tide Pools

This morning, we rolled out of bed and explored some pretty fantastic tide pools.  Discoveries included mossy chiton, gooseneck barnacles, velellas, striped rock crabs, black turbin snails, giant green sea urchins, hermit crabs, aggregating anemone, California mussels and a rock louse.
